Community Impact
Digital poverty currently affects around 16 million adults in the UK. These are people who either cannot afford to buy technology or lack the knowledge to use it. This exclusion from the digital world can have a far-reaching impact on things like employability, increased spending, difficulty accessing services, decreased opportunities for learning and social interaction, and increased feelings of isolation.
By donating quality refurbished technology to people in need, we’re actively bridging the digital divide in our country and allowing thousands of people to access all of the benefits that the digital world has to offer.
We believe that access to a computer is not a luxury but a necessity in today’s economy. That is why we continue to give back to schools, charities and non-profit organisations who would benefit from this reused hardware. Last year, we helped a wide range of people, from refugees, domestic abuse victims, mental health charities, public schools, community initiatives and many more.
While there is already an extensive waiting list, we encourage any charities to request a donation of laptops, desktop computers, mobile phones or tablets through our partner site www.the-tech-hub.co.uk.
