The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) requires duty holders to ensure that their lifts are thoroughly inspected at regular intervals.

Unfortunately, it may not always be possible for an inspector to complete their examination on the planned date if the lift is out of service, or unavailable at the time.
