Like many people I arrived in this industry quite by accident. After 6 years in the Royal Navy I left to get married to a Londoner and moved down south from my native Lancashire. I needed a job to tide me over and joined a little company that provided gallery attendants to the'large Art galleries. I loved art and meeting new people and it was the best of both worlds. To cut a long story short six years later I was an account manager still working for the same company. I was then recommended by a friend for a job at Reuters where I spent the next 17 years, starting there in the security team and finishing as Head of Facilities for EMEA. I left there to work for myself and got a call one day from someone I knew at ITV and became their Director of Facilities (now Workplace Services & Estates). Thirteen years later I'm still here!
