Philip Yea
Philip Yea was Chair of the Trustees of the British Heart Foundation from 2008 to 2015. He continues to support its work as a named Distinguished Fellow and is very active in the promotion of The Circuit, an operational database embedded within the UK’s Ambulance Authorities which gives them visibility of the location of every defibrillator registered on it. Still active as Chair of Mondi plc, the FTSE 100 packaging and paper group, he has been a director of many of the UK’s larger companies including Diageo, 3i Group, Vodafone and Greene King, as well as leading business service providers such as Computacenter plc and Equiniti the share registrar.
Although not a scientist, in addition to his support for the British Heart Foundation, he served as an independent trustee of The Francis Crick Institute from 2011 to 2018 as it was formed and brought into operation.
Philip is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has a degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University where he was at Brasenose College.
