Sharmin Akter is a finance-trained operations and workplace/facilities leader with 15+ years’ experience delivering complex, multi-site portfolios in regulated environments. She operates at Head of Operations / Director / Senior Consultant level, partnering with boards, regulators and senior stakeholders across central government, financial services, manufacturing, and local government.

Alongside her corporate leadership, Sharmin is an entrepreneur who has built and led her own service business, bringing a strong commercial lens, pace, and a practical “make it work” mindset into every role. She’s known for bringing clarity in high-pressure settings, strengthening governance, and building high-performing teams where standards and wellbeing can coexist.

Sharmin is also a passionate mentor and advocate for the next generation, supporting emerging leaders through structured mentoring and community initiatives focused on confidence, capability, and long-term growth.
