Business development manager, NEIDA PRODUCTS ENGINEERING LIMITED
My interest in engineering started long before I began my career. I had the opportunity to attend **JCB Engineering School**, which gave me my first real insight into engineering and manufacturing and sparked an interest that stayed with me. Three years ago, I took the step into the engineering industry and joined **Neida** as a Business Development Manager. Since then, I’ve learnt so much, met some incredible people and discovered just how many different opportunities there are within engineering and manufacturing. I’ll be honest — when I first started, I didn’t know everything about the industry, and I’m still learning every day. But that’s exactly why I’m passionate about encouraging other women to consider engineering as a career. You don’t have to know everything before you start. You don’t need to have a traditional engineering background. Sometimes you just need someone to give you an opportunity, believe in you and encourage you to take that first step. For me, becoming a **Women in Industry Ambassador** is an opportunity to share my own experience, encourage more women to explore careers in engineering and manufacturing, and hopefully show that there are so many different ways to find your place within the industry. If my journey can encourage even one person to think **“maybe I could do that too”**, then I’ll be incredibly proud. I’m really looking forward to being part of the Women in Industry community and meeting lots of inspiring people along the way. 💙 Thank you to **The Workplace Event** for the opportunity!
